About Andrea

Andrea received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 2007, and she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a Minor in Criminal Justice from Florida International University in 2004.

At Nova Southeastern, Andrea was the editor of the 2006-07 bilingual edition of the Journal of International and Comparative Law, and she had served as a junior member for the same journal the previous year. Andrea was also the President of Nova's International Law Student Association. Nova Southeastern awarded Andrea a Public Service Fellowship for her work with the Department of Justice Office of Chief Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices. Andrea also made the Dean's List. During law school, Andrea studied abroad through the University of Miami in Greece and in London, England, where she took coursework in international and comparative law.

While a student at Florida International University, Andrea studied abroad through the FIU Honors College in Italy. Also at FIU, Andrea was a writer for the Beacon Student Newspaper and received the Outstanding Journalism Student Award for 2004. She also received the FIU Honors College Outstanding Service Award 2003-04 for her community involvement. During the Summer of 2002, Andrea was a Congressional Intern with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C., where she worked with Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Congressman John Conyers, .

Andrea is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Andrea's favorite areas of immigration practice are family-based immigration, removal defense, and asylum.
