Andrew Gerling | Dublin Bankruptcy Lawyer

Attorney Andrew Gerling is a shareholder and managing attorney at Doucet & Associates.  Andy oversees the firm’s consumer litigation and small business practices.  As a trial lawyer, Andy represents homeowners and businesses throughout Ohio.  He devotes a significant portion of his practice to consumer protection, including foreclosure defense, abusive debt collection, and consumer fraud.  Andy has experience representing consumers in matters involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act.  He also represents clients in state and federal appellate courts.

Andy oversees the attorney mentorship program at Doucet & Associates.  He works with attorneys to develop litigation strategies and further newly licensed attorneys’ professional development.

Andy has worked in the legal industry for over 13 years.  Prior to attending law school, he worked at a prominent insurance defense law firm for 8 years.  He gained valuable experience in business and commercial litigation, debt collection and insurance defense.  This experience provides him with unique insight to the inner working of insurance companies and debt collection agencies.  Andy draws from this experience when representing consumers in lawsuits and defending homeowners facing foreclosure.

Andy graduated from Otterbein University Summa Cum Laude receiving his BA with departmental honors in political science.  He went on to receive his law degree from Capital University where he graduated with distinction as member of the Order of the Curia and earning top marks in his jurisprudence class.  Andy also completed an externship with a federal judge at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Andy is a member of the Central Ohio Association for Justice.  He lives in Westerville, Ohio with his wife Chelse.  Andy is licensed to practice law in all Ohio state courts and the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, as well as the Sixth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.

Andy was named a 2017 Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine.
