Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

A client of mine was sued in a class action lawsuit that had bet the company written all over the pleadings. I successfully negotiated a confidential settlement in the very low six-figures on behalf of my client saving it potentially millions of dollars in legal fees and possible damage claims.

How did you build a successful practice?

I built my practice by taking care of every client as if she was my only client.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience and third party reviews.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is important to the success of cases in Dallas County.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can quickly determine from a short phone call if my firm can help you with your legal matter, and if not, in some circumstances, I can refer you to the kind of attorney who can help you with your legal needs.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

If you call me about a car wreck where you suffered personal injuries, I can more readily help you if you have a copy of the police report in your hands, some information about the driver of the at-fault vehicle, and any medical bills related to the car wreck.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I speak Spanish.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping others navigate through the insurance company's maze.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Surfing, skiing, traveling, and reading.

Are you involved in your community?

I'm very involved in my community: Board of Directors, Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) • Managing Principal, Cambria Investment Management, Inc. • Managing Director, Alta Verde Group • Chairman of the Board, Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce • Co-Chair, Atmos Energy Customer Advisory Board • Board of Directors, Dallas Hispanic Bar Association • Board of Directors, Executive Committee - United Way of Metropolitan Dallas • Board of Directors, Texas Trial Lawyers Association • Board of Directors, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association • 2010 Recipient, Dallas Business Journal, Minority Business Leader Award • 2009 Recipient, Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Pacesetter Award • 2008 Recipient, Texas Diversity Council's Diversity FIRST Award • Leadership Dallas Class of 2006, Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce • Co-Chairman, Dallas Hispanic Bar Association Annual Event Honoring Corporate Counsel Diversity • Co-Chairman, Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Quality & Excellence Awards Banquet • Co-Chairman, Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce "Stars on the Rise" Scholarship Banquet • Hispanic Advisory Committee, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Texas • Hispanic Advisory Board, St. Jude Children's Hospital Noche de Esperanza.
