About Angela
Angela E. Tekell has represented clients in state and federal court across the State of Texas since her graduation from Baylor Law School in 1989. After graduation, Mrs. Tekell worked for the current Chief Justice of the Western District of Texas, the Honorable Walter S. Smith, Jr. as one of his Briefing Attorneys. After her two year term with Judge Smith, Mrs. Tekell went into private practice handling primarily consumer and insurance civil litigation matters in state and federal courts across the state, and at the time, was admitted to practice in all United States District Courts in Texas and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mrs. Tekell handled many cases from initiation through trial, and in some cases, appeal.
In 2001, she joined her husband in private practice and continued to represent and defend individuals and small businesses in state and federal court in Central Texas. In 2005, Mrs. Tekell and her co-counsel won a $1 million verdict from a Bell County jury after a 2 week trial in a breach of contract/fraudulent inducement case.
Mrs. Tekell has been very active volunteer in her church and Waco community for the last 20 years. She is a Past President of the Waco Chapter of Parents for Public Schools and the Junior League of Waco, Inc. as well as serving on the Waco ISD Education Foundation as a member and as its Treasurer. As Mrs. Tekell has followed and supported her two boys through the public school system, she has served on many PTA and Waco ISD advisory boards and committees. Mrs. Tekell also became trained and served 3 years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for the Advocacy Center for Women and Children in Waco in 2000 serving as a Guardian ad Litem for children who had been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services.
