Anthony A. Mascolo is a partner in Bosco, Bisignano & Mascolo, Esq., LLP.  As a young man he wanted to become a lawyer.  He always believed that lawyers helped those in need, especially when the odds were stacked against the needy.  In essence, lawyers helped level the playing field at a time when it looked like it was going to be a rout.  Lawyers, in essence, gave even the most oppressed an equality with those in power.

At a young age he wanted to be a lawyer. Becoming one fulfilled a lifelong ambition. He has always believed that why someone becomes a lawyer is as what becomes of the person after they enter the practice of law.  He believes in fighting against forces that would harm those who cannot protect themselves and thereby prevent justice from reaching the people who need help and support and justice the most.

He grew up first in Brooklyn and then while young came to Staten Island. He and his family settled in Manor Heights and he attended St. Rita's Grammar School on Bradley Ave.  He attended Msgr. Farrell High School from 1969 to 1973. While there he was a member of the highly successful track team and its field captain as a senior. He has many friends and many fond memories of those days.

He then attended Binghamton University where he majored in Political Science and earned Outstanding Academic Performance recognition at his graduation. While at Binghamton University, he was an elected board member of Auxiliary Campus Enterprises, the corporation that was responsible for running the campus dining facilities. He also was a Resident Assistant for 2 years, being responsible for the running of a floor in the dormitory complex. While at Binghamton University he became very interested in community affairs and then realized the value of the community volunteer.

He then attended Fordham University School of Law, who he credits with teaching him how to use his law degree to help those who are injured and in need of justice. While in law school he worked as an intern with the Richmond County District Attorney's Office where he saw lawyers seek justice for men and women who were victims of criminals. He then went to work for Justice Vito Titone of the Appellate Division, who went on to become the only Judge from Staten Island ever to serve on the Court of Appeals, the highest court in the State of New York.

After graduating law school he worked for law firms in the personal injury field both in Manhattan and Staten Island where he could help those in need get the justice that they so desperately needed. He became a partner at one of those firms before moving on to found Bosco, Bisignano Mascolo with his partners, John Bosco and Anthony Bisignano.  Over the years he has represented thousands of victims of poor judgment by others and won valuable compensation for them.

He has been a member of the Richmond County Bar Association for many years.  He also served as a director of that organization and a chairperson of the negligence committee.  He served on the judiciary committee for many years and appeared on community television specials concerning the rights of persons injured in accidents during his tenure with the Richmond County Bar Association.

In addition to the Richmond County Bar Association, he is currently a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association.

He has been very active in community affairs for many years.  In 1999, the Staten Island Advance honored him with the Sports Service Award Person of the Year.  At that time he was the founder and meet director of the Plescia Memorial Supermeet, a track meet held in honor of his friend who suffered an early death. The meet had a very successful 10 year run. He was a director and officer of the Staten Island Boys Football League for many years. He also served as a director of the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame.

In 1991 he began teaching seniors at Msgr. Farrell HS with his partners where they continue to teach to this day. Over the years education of Staten Island youth has become an important concern to him. He and his wife, the former Marie Rodsky (also a BU alumni, 1977), run yearly events on behalf of Binghamton University where Mr. Mascolo now serves a director of the Binghamton University Alumni Association.  Mr. Mascolo recently spoke at a graduation at Binghamton University and has participated in several panel discussions concerning higher education.

He believes that those injured in an accident are in need of strong, tough, yet caring representation and he strives to have his law firm achieve those ideals for its clients.  He realizes that the client has only one attempt to get compensated for a devastating injury, and he believes that a lawyer and a law firm should leave nothing to chance in its representation of a client. He believes that a lawyer and his client have a special bond that makes their needs and interests inextricably intertwined. He recognizes the great responsibility he has as a lawyer and values the great trust that a client puts in him and his law firm.
