About Anthony

Tony represents Fortune 50 financial services companies, retail giants, small and large specialty products companies and contractors. The principals and general counsel of these companies turn to Tony and his firm to represent their interests in employment litigation, trade secret and non competition litigation, unfair trade practice claims, department of labor investigations, and construction litigation. Sometimes, these companies choose Tony as a trusted advisor and attorney to represent the company as local counsel in Connecticut state and federal court. Tony also represents corporate shareholders and LLC members in member and shareholder litigation, including dissolution and receivership actions that typically involve breach of fiduciary duty claims. Tony's practice also involves representing individuals, including professionals and executives in employment, real estate litigation and other matters. When acting as local counsel, Tony, an adjunct professor of law on Connecticut Civil Procedure at Quinnipiac Law School, helps lead counsel navigate the nuances of Connecticut state and federal court practice. Tony also acts as outside general counsel to companies, providing day-to-day guidance and advice on legal issues these companies face. Tony graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he received numerous awards for his academic performance. He passed the New Jersey, New York and Connecticut bar exams and then moved on to careers with large and small firms which led to his boutique litigation practice. Tony can be reached at extension 11.

Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Every case makes a big difference in either an individual's life or a business's operations. A particular one involved a start-up company. We represented a start-up that sued the manufacturer that built part of its product. That manufacturer simply stopped producing our client's product because a larger company had purchased the manufacturer and didn't think our client's "business" it was worth it for them to continue the contract. We also helped a former employee of a company get back all of her promised retirement benefits that her former employer had promised her, for the rest of her life.

How did you build a successful practice?

By listening to clients and what their wishes are, hearing what is important to them or their business, returning phone calls promptly, providing the best representation we can, and using technology in all areas to systemize processes and protocols into best processes for cases we handle.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Honesty and candid advice about their case, an ability to explain the law as it relates to their case, and a willingness to give an opinion on the probabilities of prevailing or not prevailing, and costs (financial and emotional) for both.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Very important.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Very little that would be of value to a potential client.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

The basic information to run a conflicts check, and determine whether an in-person consultation would help the potential client understand their situation better as it relates to the law.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

We are a sharp law firm in everything we do. And we truly listen to our clients and get to know them because knowing the client, what makes them tick, helps us represent and advise them better.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

People and relationships, and truly helping people solve problems.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Hiking, racquetball, family, meditation, cycling, golf.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes, I provide pro bono counsel to a community services organization, I am active with the local chamber of commerce, and serve on the Board of Trustees of a retreat house, and my law school's alumni executive board.
