Ashley Wilson is known for her passion, empathy, attention to detail, and knowledge of the law. She believes that every person accused of a crime deserves a fair and zealous defense. She knows that criminal defense is an essential aspect to our justice system.

A criminal charge can have wide-ranging effects beyond just a criminal record. A criminal charge can affect your work, school, family, and personal life. Because of this, Ashley views each case through a wide lens so clients may address not only the criminal charge at issue, but also the conditions which led to the allegation. Ashley believes that mitigation is an essential element of a holistic defense plan and that alternatives such as treatment, classes, and community service can satisfy the State’s want for retribution while avoiding jail time for defendants. Ashley wants her clients to be viewed as dynamic and ever-improving human beings rather than a number in a system.

Ashley is an attorney that is dedicated to criminal defense and civil rights. She began her legal career in college while studying to receive her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from George Washington University. At that time, Ashley worked as a paralegal for a boutique law firm specializing in white-collar defense and college student defense. Also during her undergraduate career, Ashley worked as a volunteer for the Petey Greene Project and would tutor inmates in GED studies. While she attended William & Mary Law School, Ashley worked for the Commonwealth Attorney’s office in Petersburg, Virginia where she tried both felony and misdemeanor cases ranging from petit larcenies to assaults; she has tried cases in front of both judges and juries. In addition to her J.D., Ashley received a concentration in Criminal Law and Procedure. Following law school and prior to joining Price Benowitz, Ashley worked in civil rights law representing employees who were wronged by their employers, including cases related to hostile work environments, unpaid wages, and discrimination in the workplace. Now, Ashley has returned to her true love: criminal defense. Ashley provides consultations on a variety of charges including DUIs, hit and runs, reckless driving, petit larceny, trespassing, and more. She also provides consultations related to expungements and gun rights restorations.

In her spare time, Ashley enjoys assisting in volunteer projects. She received community service recognitions when graduating from high school, college, and law school. More recently, Ashley has participated in trash pick-ups around her local community with District Cleanups and helps women in need to dress for success with Suited For Change. When she is not working or volunteering, Ashley collects minerals from all over the world. She has a collection of approximately 200 mineral specimens. Her favorite mineral in her collection is her vanadinite from Morocco.
