introduction
As a former chief prosecutor and a litigator, Elder has tried over one hundred cases ranging from capital offenses to financial crimes. In private practice his litigation experience covers Personal Injury (auto, truck, airplane and train accidents), Business Disputes, Civil Rights, and much more. In addition to litigation, he has extensive business experience in the areas of health care, government policies and insurance claims.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law, with the high distinction of Magna Cum Laude, after graduating with a double major from the University of Michigan.
Elder has a proven track record in helping clients solve complex problems, and close deals. His rich experiences give him and his clients a rare distinction as an attorney who truly understands how to deal with multiple areas of conflict and win.
His has a strong community service record, and has served on multiple prominent boards, including the Aerotropolis Development Corporation (First & Former Chairman), the Detroit Medical Center Legacy Board (Former Board Member), Health Choice of Michigan (Former Chairman) and the ADC Advisory Board (Founding member, First & Former Chairman).
Elder currently holds memberships with the Michigan State Bar, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Medical Group Management Association, the Michigan Bar Health Law Section and also retains his Michigan Real Estate Brokers license. He is also the receipt of the Dbusiness 2014 Top Lawyer Award and Elder received an award from Crain’s Detroit Business for 40 under 40.
