Johanna Kelley, founder of J Kelley Law Group, obtained her law degree in Colombia in 2001, where she practiced Labor, Constitutional, Administrative, Human Rights, International Law and International Business Law. She advised private companies, local and international human rights organizations, governmental agencies, the Colombian Army and grassroots community organizations, with a broad portfolio that included innovative initiatives and the improvement of Colombia’s image abroad. She prepared and accompanied cases of Colombian citizens before the Organization of American States (OAS). After immigrating to the United States, she found that the policy and Immigration Law of this country were a perfect fit for her professional development project and after graduating with Master’s degrees in Law (Duke University) and International Development Policy (Sanford School of Public Policy), she founded in 2013 a non-profit organization aimed at protecting and promoting immigrant rights and social justice. In July 2015, she left the nonprofit sector to serve in government. She began working for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as a supervisor, a wonderful experience professionally and personally, which allowed her to participate in ensuring the integrity of the US immigration system, provide immigration benefits and support the country’s Homeland Security. In November 2017, Johanna Kelley said goodbye to USCIS to kick off the biggest of her work projects: building her own law firm. The founder of our firm believes in legal development and empowerment, therefore, she has been involved in public discussions at mass events and through the media. She hosted the television program ‘Batalla Política’ for the international news channel NTN24 and is a frequent analyst on radio stations and Hispanic channels such as Telemundo, Caracol Televisión, Univisión and RCN News. Mrs. Kelley leads a team committed to the cases of clients and investors, and we are grateful every day for the opportunity to serve our community with professionalism, ethics, and positive results generated through teamwork.

John B. Flood represents clients in trials and adversarial proceedings, in matters involving non-competition and other restrictive covenants, and in all aspects of labor and employment law. Prior to starting Flood Law, John served as an active duty Air Force Judge Advocate (JAG) officer, attaining the rank of Major. John then joined a national labor and employment firm, becoming a Shareholder. John’s approach to the practice of law reflects the values of excellence, teamwork, and service to others that he fostered in the Air Force and now applies to each client in every case.

Keith graduated from SUNY Binghamton in 1989 with a B.A. in Political Science. Keith obtained his J.D. from American University, The Washington College of Law in 1992. Keith was admitted to practice in the State of Maryland in 1992 and the District of Columbia in 1993. In addition to being admitted to practice before the local courts in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia, Keith is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States Circuit Court for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the United States Circuit Court for the District of Columbia.

Over the course of more than twenty years, I have continued to represent individuals and businesses in state and federal courts. I have tried cases in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Florida and West Virginia, and have represented my clients’ interests in the courts of Virginia and Delaware. I have prosecuted numerous severe injury claims and wrongful death suits and have litigated hundreds of claims representing victims of asbestos exposure. I am proud to have served as co-counsel in what is believed to be the largest individual asbestos settlement in the District of Columbia, and to have obtained tens of millions of dollars in awards and settlements for our clients. I also routinely represent business clients in commercial disputes including breach of contract cases, brokerage disputes, and litigation involving real estate. Business cases occasionally require arbitration, and I have many years of experience in the arbitration of claims under both the American Arbitration Association guidelines and JAMS rules. I am honored to have received Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, an objective rating that indicates my peers rank me at the highest level of ethical and professional excellence. I previously served on the Board of Directors of the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Capital Area. My wife and I have lived in Bethesda for more than 20 years, and our children attended the local public schools. When we are not spending time enjoying our immediate community, we love to travel and explore.
