Ben House is licensed in Texas, in both State and Federal Courts. During his years of experience, he has focused primarily on construction law, business and commercial contracts and transactions, and business and construction litigation, representing clients in a variety of construction and business disputes. He also supports a practice in Texas Trusts and Wills. Ben has actively participated in dozens of major litigation cases, including trials and mediations, and appeared before several Federal, State and Bankruptcy benches in Harris and Galveston counties. The younger Mr. House is a Cum Laude graduate from Texas A&M's College of Architecture, carrying a B.S. in Construction Science. Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

We generally do not address our specific actions with regard to litigation, even where we are quite proud of the effort, outcome or both. We will say that firms which draw us as adversaries should be ready to try the case.

How did you build a successful practice?

Hard work, good instincts, superior client communication, obsessive preparation and success in trial.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Someone they trust, and that is deserving of that trust.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Extremely. The jurisdiction and venue of a given matter is among the most important aspects of a given case.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

A no nonsense and straightforward discussion of the legal issues in question, the steps necessary to determine whether a case can or should be pursued, potential outcomes and a general roadmap of what the case will require of the client in the short and long term.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Contact information and a detailed explanation of the facts as the client understands them.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

While I have great respect for the lawyers in the greater Houston area, the background and industry experience of our attorneys result in the firm's somewhat more straightforward and aggressive approach to the practice of law generally, especially regarding our tendency to try cases.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping good people.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Nearly anything automotive, including restoration of classic cars.

Are you involved in your community?

Our attorneys are members of various bar associations and chambers of commerce, but frankly, the great majority of our time is spent assisting the folks that come to us for help or assistance.
