About Benson

Benson Varghese is a Board Certified Criminal Defense lawyer and the founder and managing partner of Varghese Summersett. Collectively, the attorneys at Varghese Summersett bring together more than a century of criminal law experience and have helped thousands facing the biggest problems in their lives. Benson is a former prosecutor and an experienced litigator who has tried more than 100 cases before Texas juries. He represents individuals charged with the most serious state and federal criminal offenses. Benson has been named an Entrepreneur of Excellence, a Minority Leader in Business, a Top Attorney, and a Super Lawyer Rising Star, among other accolades. He is the immediate past president of the Board of the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and is an avid supporter of numerous philanthropic and non-profit organizations. In 2019, Benson was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Tarrant County. He received his undergraduate degree from SMU and his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
