About Bradley
Following his graduation from University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 1977, Brad Thomas began his career as a civil trial attorney with one of the Sacramento area’s largest insurance defense firms. When two of the partners left that firm, Mr. Thomas joined with them to for the law firm currently known as Mason Thomas.
For 35 years, Mr Thomas’s practice has consisted largely of representing clients referred to him by insurance companies, self-insured businesses, third party administrators and other attorneys. The subject matter of his cases often involves claims of personal injury arising out of automobile accidents, property related accidents, alleged defective or toxic products and construction site accidents. However, he has represented many clients involved in employment and business disputes.
With the experience and knowledge gained from close to 100 jury trials under his belt, Mr. Thomas is able to offer valuable insight and perspective on factual and legal issues presented by civil disputes. In addition, he knows the tendencies and inclinations of judges and jurors in Northern California. He has tried cases in 14 different counties throughout California.
Mr. Thomas has been fortunate to have worked with dozens of liability insurance companies over the years. He readily adapts his approach to the defense of civil litigation according to the goals and philosophy of each company, while always protecting the interest of the insured client.
Since 1988 (when he was 36 years old), Mr. Thomas has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is a past president of the Sacramento Valley Chapter and served on the Board of Directors for CalABOTA. He is the recipient of his chapter’s award for professionalism and civility in the practice of law. He is a proud and active member of the Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court. Martindale-Hubbel has awarded Mr. Thomas its highest rating and the title of preeminent lawyer. He has also been named a “Super Lawyer”.
Mr. Thomas is a frequent lecturer for continuing education programs and seminars sponsored by both plaintiff and defense organizations. He has participated in six Masters in Trial programs sponsored by ABOTA.
When not at the office or in the courtroom, Mr. Thomas can be found riding his bike, running, taking photographs, or traveling. He competes in bicycle road races and duathlons and can still play a decent game of tennis.
