About Brent
Mr. Ritchey earned his B.A. with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2000), where he studied political science. Mr. Ritchey received many honors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including being made a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Ritchey then went on to study law at the University of Texas Law School, graduating in 2003. During his time at the University of Texas Law School, Mr. Ritchey was a Notes Editor for The Review of Litigation Law Journal; worked as a research assistant for Professor David Anderson; worked as an intern at the Texas Attorney General Child Support Division; and competed in numerous mock trial competitions, including the Strassburger and Price Senior Mock Trial competitions where he and his partner made it to the semi-finals.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Ritchey worked for a small law firm in Austin, then began work as a Hearing Officer at the Texas Workforce Commission where he rendered decisions in appeals to the agency.
Mr. Ritchey now practices family law at Ritchey & Marbut, LLP which Mike Marbut and he founded in 2004. He is currently a member of The Travis County Bar Association, the Family Law Sections of the Travis County Bar Association and the State Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
