Questions & Answers

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Every Client and every lawyer are different. Clients should look for a lawyer that is competent and able to represent them well in Court, but also a lawyer with whom they are comfortable working. Preparing for any case involves multiple conversations, and sometime fairly personal discussions. I try my best to be honest and up front with my Clients. I also know that your case is unique and stressful, I'm prepared not just to talk to you about the legal details of your case, but also to talk about your case with you as an actual person.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

While the law is the (mostly) the same throughout Virginia, each local jurisdiction is not. Each jurisdiction has their own Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, and their own set of local Judges. With this comes a different set of local practices that may impact how we approach a case.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I am happy to learn about what has happened, what the allegations against you are, and you fully hear out your side of events. I can then advise you about the the nature of the charge against you, and what the process typically looks like for those cases. From there we can discuss what my representation of you will look like. I do my best to be clear and up front about the costs of representation. No one wants additional surprises when dealing with criminal charges.
