About Bridgett
Bridgett was born in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated with honors from Penn High School. She moved to West Lafayette to attend Purdue University where she participated in the college's mock trial team, which competed at a national level. She graduated in 1994, with honors, with a B.A. degree in political science.
She began law school at Valparaiso University School of Law where she was the vice president of the student bar association and then clerked for the Honorable Rudy Lozano in the Federal Court of the Northern District of Indiana. In 1997, she graduated cum laude, passed the Indiana bar exam, and was admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana and federal courts of both the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
After her admission to practice law, she began her career at a private law firm in Hammond, Indiana. During that time, she handled various types of cases, including personal injury, divorce, child custody, child support, juvenile matters, DUIs, traffic tickets, wills, and estates. Next, she worked as an in-house counsel for an insurance company where she was a defense counsel for cases involving auto accidents and various other claims that included dog bites and slip and falls.
In May 2008, Bridgett formed the partnership, Dugan & Repay, LLP, with Julie A. Dugan. Her focus is on representing plaintiffs in their personal injury and workers' compensation claims.
Bridgett is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indiana Trial Lawyer's Association, and the Lake County Bar Association, where she has served two years as a member of the board of managers. She also enjoys working with the local elementary schools on various topics such as the "We the People" program, "Indiana Kids' Election" and "Why Lincoln Was a Lawyer."
