About Brooke

Brooke Grogan is a Senior Associate Personal Injury Attorney that passionately represents clients that have been injured in automobile accidents, as well as slip and fall and dog bite claimants. A native of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Brooke graduated from Purdue University in 2009, and Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL, in 2012. Before becoming an attorney, Brooke clerked in the domestic violence department at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, where she assisted the attorneys in obtaining restraining orders/injunctions against Respondents. Brooke now uses that tenacity and determination to represent personal injury victims and is honored to stand with her clients and act as their legal voice as they fight for justice and the compensation each client deserves. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys volunteering with Junior Achievement and educating youth on topics such as financial literacy. Brooke is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, and is also a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate.

One of the aspects of personal injury law that I love best is that every person has equal access to an attorney, with no up-front charge for the legal representation. This is different from many other areas of law (family law, etc.), where the client is charged an hourly rate for the legal representation, some times making it unaffordable for the client. As your personal injury attorney, I would work on a contingency basis, meaning that I only get paid if and when I obtain a settlement on your behalf. All costs are "fronted" by my Law Firm and reimbursed at the end of your case, which is also an added benefit. No recovery = no fees or costs. Give me a call and we can discuss our fee structure in further detail. I am accessible 7 days a week to answer any questions you may have.

Questions & Answers

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

During the initial consultation, it is very helpful to have (1) your vehicle Insurance Declaration Page; (2) photographs of the accident; (3) the Driver Exchange and/or Police Report; (4) any contact information from any insurance adjuster/company that has contacted you since the accident. If you have not yet gathered these documents prior to our first telephone call/meeting, no problem! After we talk/meet, we will place all known insurance carriers on notice of our legal representation and will work with you on obtaining all the necessary documents so that we can better evaluate and analyze your claim.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Personal rapport and attention! As the Senior Associate Personal Injury Attorney, I am personally invested, involved, and informed in every pending personal injury claim, and can speak with the client as often as they wish about their claim, which I believe is what differentiates Smith, Gaskill & Shenkman, P.A., from other law firms. Often times a client may prefer to speak with an attorney about a particular aspect of their claim, and I am always accessible to answer questions and provide status updates and guidance, which helps strengthen and solidify the client relationship. In my experience, a claim is much smoother with attorney involvement and oversight, as the client is better educated and has managed, realistic settlement expectations.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Fighting and obtaining a settlement each injured client deserves. Prior to becoming an attorney, I worked in the Domestic Violence Project at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, where I worked with the attorneys (on behalf of victims of abuse and domestic violence), in securing restraining orders against their abusers. My passion to fight and stand with those that have been abused or injured is instinctive, and there is nothing more rewarding than obtaining a settlement each client deserves.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love traveling, meeting new people, and real estate! I also enjoy writing legal articles on topics relating to Florida personal injury auto accidents. My favorite article (so far) can be foundhere.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes! I have been a proud and active volunteer forJunior Achievementof the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast (www.juniorachievement.org) for the past 6 years and have loved every minute of my involvement with this amazing non-profit organization. Through this organization, I have enjoyed the pleasure of teaching programs on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness, to elementary and middle school-aged children, and have even had the opportunity to volunteer and serve as a mentor/role model to youth girls at a drug abuse treatment center in West Palm Beach (which I found very rewarding)! I love our community, I love our youth, and I am constantly impressed by all the ambitious, young minds in our South Florida community!
