Bruce Johnson | Bowie Criminal Defense Lawyer

Mr. Johnson attended Shippensburg University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1989. Thereafter, he attended the University of Maryland School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1992. Mr. Johnson also earned an MBA from John Hopkins University in May 2000. After law school, Mr. Johnson clerked from the Honorable J. James McKenna in the Montgomery County Circuit Court. After clerking, he received a position with Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office as an Assistant State’s Attorney. As a prosecutor, Mr. Johnson, personally went to trial on over three hundred (300)criminal and traffic offenses. Afterwards, Mr. Johnson joined a prestigious D.C. law firm as an associate attorney where he practiced business litigation and criminal defense in the state and federal courts of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. During the period 1995-2000, Mr. Johnson also served in the Army JAG Corps Reserves. In the spring of 2000, Bruce A. Johnson, Jr., LLC was established to provide the highest quality trial and litigation services. To date, Mr. Johnson has personally handled over one hundred (100) jury trials and well over six hundred (600) bench trials in the areas of criminal, business and real estate law.

In 2015, Mr. Johnson became a member of the Alliance Defending Freedom (“Alliance”). Alliance advocates on behalf of Christians so that they may freely live out their faith. Along with the Alliance, is Mr. Johnson dedicated to changing the law and culture so that true freedom can flourish.

In 2016, Mr. Johnson became a member of Liberty Counsel. Liberty Counsel is a Christian legal organization that aggressively works to protect religious freedom, the sanctity of life and the promotion of marriage as God intended.
