About Bryan

An attorney with considerable trial experience goes a long way. Bryan began representing clients in the courtroom and in trial before he even graduated law school–and he hasn’t stopped. By first practicing as a public defense attorney, Bryan gained considerable courtroom experience representing the accused in criminal proceedings. “I learned to think on my feet, to present cases before both judges and juries.” In a legal environment where only select civil cases make it into the courtroom, few personal injury attorneys have much courtroom experience under their belt. As an attorney practicing both criminal and civil law, Donahue Law Firm clients get the benefit of a tried and true trial attorney. “To be able to take the fight to the next level, and feel comfortable doing it, is something so invaluable to me, and my clients.”

Increasingly, the utilization of skillful negotiation is critical to obtaining the best possible outcome in both criminal and civil matters. Even before becoming an attorney, Bryan developed valuable dispute resolution skills as a licensed mediator with the State of Oregon. Since then he has worked with and fought against hard-nosed prosecutors, stingy insurance adjusters, and civil defense litigators, while always working to achieve the same goal–the best outcome for his clients.

In addition to protecting the rights of the accused and those facing criminal charges, Bryan is also dedicated to the protection and representation of personal injury victims. An active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice, Bryan believes in fighting for civil justice and insurer accountability. His paper, Medical Malpractice: Litigation, Investments, and Insurance Industry Cycles, exposes the deceit medical malpractice insurers have levied on the public and their doctors for years—blaming injury victims and their attorneys for exorbitant increases in physician medical malpractice premiums. Utilizing econometric regression analysis, Bryan proved that insurers themselves were responsible, through poor investment practices, for disproportionately high premiums they charge to doctors. By misleading the public that the cause of the malpractice rates are due to greedy lawyers, they have obtained improper profits while turning doctors and the public against lawyers who are protecting the public.
