He has owned a greenhouse nursery business with a fleet of Commercial Motor Vehicles, owned a farming operation, managed a timber harvesting business, owned a computer repair and consulting business, operated a home mortgage business, owned a photography business and owned an insurance business. Adams currently owns a tax accounting business, a real estate investment business and co-owns a local newspaper. He has served a county commissioner since 1996. Adams has been married since 1990. He has two children and two grandchildren. Adams has authored two books; one is about being successful and the other is a children's book.
