Chair, Insurance Coverage Group; Member, Litigation Department and Banking & Financial Services Group. Mr. Holmes concentrates his practice on insurance coverage, including litigation. For over a decade, Mr. Holmes has represented various domestic and international insurers in disputes involving errors and omissions and general liability policies. His litigation experience includes a jury trial for bad faith and numerous declaratory judgment and breach of contract actions. In addition, he counsels insurers on coverage issues arising from the defense of third party claims against insureds.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:
Represented Certain Underwriters at Lloyds and Companies in an action brought by an insured for insurance coverage and bad faith, and in 2006 received a defense verdict after a two-week jury trial in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia, Commerce Court Division.
Represented two insurers in the asbestos federal class action Georgine v. Amchem Products, et al, and collateral litigation from November 1993 until June 2005.
