Anteneh Kassa attended law school at the University of Alberta. Prior to that, he completed a neuroscience degree at McMaster University. Anteneh articled in Hamilton and has practiced primarily in the area of family law since his Call to the Bar. He assists clients in all aspects of their family law matter, including negotiating, mediating and litigating custody and access issues, and complex support and property matters.

Rob has deep roots in the Hamilton area and cares greatly about the community. He understands that when someone is seriously injured they are extremely vulnerable both physically and financially. Ms. Cunningham holds an Honours Degree in Political Science graduating Summa Cum Laude, First-Class Standing, from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario in 1991. She then obtained her Doctors of Jurisprudence from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario in 1994. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1996. In 1997, Ms. Cunningham launched her law practice. She is the Senior Counsel at Cunningham Law Professional Corporation, a law firm situated in Mississauga, Ontario. She practices primarily in the areas of Family Law, Wills and Estate Administration and Litigation, Employment Law, and Corporate-Commercial Law. In addition to managing a successful law firm in Canada, Ms. Cunningham is also licensed to practise law in Jamaica, West Indies. In 2011, Ms. Cunningham completed her training in mediation and arbitration and has obtained certificates in Conflict Management: Negotiation & Mediation Levels I and II from the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies’ Certificate Program in Conflict Management, offered through the Conrad Grebel University College and the University of Waterloo, and in Arbitration from the ADR Institute of Ontario. In addition to practicing law, Ms. Cunningham is a Mediator and Director of Dispute Resolution at Global Mediation Network Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario. Ms. Cunningham has appeared as the keynote speaker and as a panelist at many events, including at the Olive Branch of Hope Workshop – Fighting Breast Cancer (on Wills and Estate Planning and Litigation); at the University of Toronto (Breaking Boundaries Conference - empowering minority students to pursue their dreams); the Annual University of Toronto High School Conference (to motivate high school students to pursue higher learning); and to at-risk youths presented by the Reachout Committee Inc. (the importance of education regardless of obstacles encountered). She has also appeared on CHRY Radio, G98.7 FM, and CHSC 1220 AM, expressing her legal opinion on current issues of the day. Ms. Cunningham is devoted to enriching the lives of our youths and has been a volunteer and avid supporter of organizations such as the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP), a teacher with the Children’s Church at Praise Cathedral Worship Centre where she is also a member, the Spelling Bee of Canada where she has mentored and coached students as they prepare for spelling competitions, and she has also officiated as a Judge at the Regional Spelling Bee Competition level. She is a donor and supporter of such organizations as the Reachout Committee, an organization devoted to addressing the problems of youths from all cultural backgrounds; DAM, a drop-in centre for youths; the Coldest Night of the Year Walk-a-Thon to raise funds for the homeless and people living in poverty in the Peel Region; Knox Past Student’s Association (KPSA) – Toronto Chapter, dedicated to raising the levels of education for KNOX students in Jamaica and students at tertiary institutions in Toronto, and the Jamaica Visionaries Association, an organization dedicated to helping the poor and needy in Jamaica. Through the law firm, Ms. Cunningham offers scholarships and placements of students in co-operative education programs, to articling (or law) students, paralegals, and volunteer opportunities for persons who have a genuine interest in the law regardless of gender, ethnicity, socio-economic background, and culture. Her firm promotes the inclusivity of all persons.

Susan Alalade studied at the University of Benin where she had a Bachelor of Law. She continued studying at the Nigerian Law School for 1 year and obtained her license to practice as a lawyer in Nigeria. Susan joined the Ministry of Justice in 2004 as a public defender. She worked closely with the oppressed and less privileged and worked hard to provide legal representation for them, including fighting for their human rights. Later in 2011, Susan decided to relocate to Canada and start her career in providing legal assistance to Canadians. After getting her license in 2016, she continued practicing law and is a family, real estate, and immigration lawyer. She values the dignity and diversity of all her clients and focuses on their safety and security.

Peter is a Partner with Smitiuch Injury Law and has exclusively worked as an injury and wrongful death lawyer his entire career. He has extensive knowledge and experience in acting as a fearless advocate to obtain compensation and accident benefits for injured individuals and families. Peter has acted as counsel on a number of trials and arbitration hearings at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Most notably, Peter was co-counsel in Stilwell v. Corning Inc., the first successful trial verdict against Corning in North America involving Visions cookware. The trial verdict was upheld by the Ontario Court of Appeal. In December 2014, as co-counsel with Mike and Megan, Peter helped to obtain a jury verdict against Glen Eagle Golf Club for over $1.8 million in damages and interest. In March 2015, Peter was lead counsel with co-counsel, Luke, in a judge alone trial arising from serious personal injuries sustained by a minor Plaintiff while boarding an amusement park ride with his father at Centreville Amusement Park (Bhatt v William Beasley Enterprises Limited). At trial, Peter successfully obtained a Judgment in favour of the minor Plaintiff and his parents against William Beasley Enterprises Limited. Recently, Peter was acknowledged by the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association for his work as a trial lawyer and was presented with the 2016 Martin Wunder, Q.C. Outstanding New Lawyer Award. Peter continues to pursue his goal of becoming a leading advocate in the field of personal injury law with an emphasis in the areas of occupiers’ liability, product liability, police brutality, wrongful death, motor vehicle accident claims and statutory accident benefits.

Ms. Megan Johnston is an Associate Lawyer at Smitiuch Injury Law. After articling with the firm, she was Called to the Bar on June 20, 2014. She will be working directly for the firm's Principal, Michael Smitiuch, on personal injury matters.

Luke Hamer is an Associate Lawyer at Smitiuch Injury Law and exclusively practices in the area of personal injury and wrongful death. Luke has acted as counsel on a number of jury and judge alone trials at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, before the Divisional Court and at arbitrations at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. In March 2015, Luke acted as co-counsel with Peter Cho in a judge alone trial arising from serious personal injuries sustained by a minor Plaintiff while he was boarding an amusement park ride with his father at Centreville Amusement Park (Bhatt v William Beasley Enterprises Limited). At trial with Peter, Luke helped successfully obtain judgment in favour of the minor Plaintiff and his parents against William Beasley Enterprises Limited. Luke obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Bond University in Robina Gold Coast, Australia. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and English from the University of Toronto. Luke has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and as a camp counselor in Guelph, Ontario.

Shawn Snider is an Associate Lawyer at Smitiuch Injury Law. After articling with the firm, he was Called to the Bar on June 25, 2019. He will be working directly for the firm's Principal, Michael Smitiuch, on personal injury matters. After completing his undergraduate degree and prior to enrolling in law school, Shawn played professional hockey for nine years in the U.S., Sweden and Germany. At law school, Shawn participated in the Osgoode Mediation Intensive Clinic that provided mediation services to the York campus and surrounding communities. During this time, he was also the Head Coach of the 2002 Mississauga Reps AAA Hockey team, from which, thirteen players were drafted in the 2018 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft. In his spare time, Shawn spends time with family and friends, plays golf and travels as much as possible.

Mohamed Elbassiouni is a Personal Injury Lawyer and heads up the Accident Benefits team with a special interest in cases involving catastrophic impairment.
