About Jeff
Mr. Langevin brings a wide range of experience to his practice, having served as a municipal police officer and as a reserve officer in the Canadian Armed Forces prior to attending law school. Jeffrey studied at Carleton University, Queen’s University and the University of Ottawa.
Mr. Langevin practices both as a barrister and a solicitor.
His solicitor’s practice is restricted to real estate transactions and small business matters.
Mr. Langevin’s barrister’s practice includes extensive criminal defence work. In the first years of his practice, Mr. Langevin served as an Assistant Crown Attorney on a contract basis with the offices of Ottawa, Pembroke, Cornwall and Perth, Ontario. Now, his practice is restricted to defence work including serious violent, drug and property offences. Mr. Langevin uses his expertise relating to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to vigorously defend his clients. Having been a breathalyzer technician since 1982 while serving as a police officer, Mr. Langevin is particularly well suited to defend impaired driving offences. In fact, a substantial amount of Jeffrey’s professional time is spent in the defence of drinking and driving offences.
On the civil side of his barrister’s practice, Jeffrey conducts civil litigation for individuals and institutional clients, including insurance companies and a title insurance company. His defence work has included a multi-million dollar class action suit for historical sexual abuse. Mr. Langevin also maintains some family clients as their disputes relate to custodial issues and he has a growing practice in real property disputes and lawyer’s negligence. Mr. Langevin is also called to the Bar in Nunavut.
Jeffrey is accessible to his clients and offers a no obligation consultation for those seeking to retain his services or the services of the firm.
