In the very near future, I will be joining Aitken Robertson as a junior associate. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, with a minor in public policy and administration, from York University in 2020. I later completed my Juris Doctor at the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Law, graduating in 2024.

I immigrated to Canada from Moscow, Russia, at the age of seven. I am the first in my family to pursue a university education and a professional career. Before joining Aitken Robertson, I articled at Calvin Barry Professional Corporation, a high-volume criminal defence firm. This experience sharpened my ability to think under pressure, take initiative, and navigate the criminal process. I was actively involved in many stages of criminal litigation, assisting with bail hearings, Crown and judicial pre-trials, trials, and appeals. I also drafted numerous Charter applications, especially for DUI cases, and prepared a pre-trial evidentiary application for a sexual assault matter.

I chose to share the quote by Ibn Sina because I believe it reflects a reality faced by many clients. Often, individuals find themselves entangled in the criminal justice system while carrying deep and enduring pains. Understanding this forms a critical part of my commitment to defending clients with empathy, determination, and respect.

I am excited to begin this next chapter of my career and look forward to becoming an integral member of the Aitken Robertson team.
