About Shimon

Shimon graduated from the University of Manitoba with his Juris Doctorate in Law. He focused his studies as much as possible on family law and the many intertwined areas associated, such as wills and estates, tax and contracts. In his undergraduate degree, Shimon studied many courses related to settling family disputes including; conflict resolution, conflict in the family, negotiation and multiple psychology courses.

Shimon has extensive negotiation experience.  In November of 2014, he and his negotiating partner (Andrew Slough who works as a Crown Prosecutor) won the Region 7 – Law Student Negotiation Competition which was held in Saskatoon. In February of 2015, he and Andrew won the American Bar Association National Law Student Negotiation Championship which covers both Canada and the USA.  Prevailing over the other 190 teams.  Finally, most recently in July of 2015, he and Andrew won the International Law Student Negotiation Championship which was held in Dublin Ireland.  Shimon and Andrew are the first ever team representing Canada to win that international competition.

Shimon credits his successes to his family and friends. He has a loving wife and two young sons with plans for a larger family in the future.

Shimon is a father and wholeheartedly believes in putting children first in any family law situation. He feels that collaborative law is the best way to create lasting and working relationships that allow for effective co-parenting.
