Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I pride myself on not just getting my clients the compensation they deserve for their injuries but in helping them heal and move forward with their lives in a positive, productive way after their injury. This means that I get to know my clients and their families, get them the medical care and attention they need, and encourage them to take care of themselves so they can heal and return to work. I provide individualized attention to my clients.

How did you build a successful practice?

My success is based on my highly responsive nature, my hard work, my 17 years of successful trial work, my caring nature, and my willingness to fight for those who have been hurt.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for a lawyer they can talk to and trust. An open relationship built on trust is the foundation needed for me to help win their cases and help them recover from their injuries. I am responsible for telling my clients story. To do this, I get to know my clients so I understand them and how their injury has impacted their life.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

I am a small town lawyer so community is crucial to my success. I grew up in this community and chose to return here to raise my own family. My children in the schools here. I understand injured Vermonters and what it takes to settle cases in this community.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

In my free phone consultations, I can let people know their legal rights and how to protect them. I answer any questions they have about the legal process and offer to help them, if they need help.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My services are different from other local lawyers as I am a female litigator (a rare thing in Vermont). I will fight and protect my clients while simultaneously caring and supporting my clients and their families while they are healing. I am a Martindale Hubbell AV top rated lawyer according to my peers. I have a successful track record of settling and trying cases to verdict for hundreds of clients.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping people in my community. People only come to me when they have been hurt, are in pain, and are having financial difficulties and difficulties performing their jobs. I help them return to work and support them while they recover from their injuries. I want to see all my clients heal and recover and move forward with their lives after an injury.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

am involved with the community through volunteer work in the schools. I have served as a board member and past president of the Vermont Children's Trust foundation which raises money to help children and families in Vermont. I do volunteer pro bono work to help people in my community.

Are you involved in your community?

Besides law, I am a mother of two girls. I love to spend time with my family, hike, ski, dance, and travel.
