About Carl
I am an individual practitioner with all of my practice in the federal and state courts devoted to commercial and real estate litigation, involving such matters as copyrights, trademarks, patents, other intellectual property including misappropriate of ideas; contractual disputes; foreclosures, and opening up of defaults and default judgments; and defending cases of all types. Although some people like to classify firms as either defense or plaintiff, I happen to do both with equal interest and attention, with a variety of fee arrangements, ranging from full contingency (even as to some defense work) to hourly rate or single fee basis (plaintiff or defense work). Whether a party is a plaintiff or defendant often depends on who gets to court first. I am also available as local counsel. I use a full range of computer-related products and services and write my own computer programs when needed. I was the first lawyer to sue for the right to advertise, and I have 2 patents in my own name, one for a portable electronic navigational system for automobiles (basically, a portable computerized road map which includes only the detail which is requested). Although small, my firm is able to cover whatever I undertake, when necessary, with high-quality associates.
