About Casey

Casey Harris is the Managing Partner of the St. Simons Island office of Choate Harris, P.C. Her practice focuses on transactional work and litigation in business and commercial law contexts, as well as wills, trusts, and estate work, including probate administration and litigation. She also assists several homeowner associations with their general corporate work and litigation needs. Casey holds an LLM in Taxation from the NYU Law Executive program, which enables her to better serve her high-net-worth estate and succession planning clients as they navigate the ramifications of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and SECURE Act. The LLM degree has also proven immensely valuable to the sales and acquisition portions of Casey’s transactional practice.

Casey is a licensed Georgia attorney and is admitted to practice in all Georgia courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Georgia.

Casey graduated magna cum laude from the Georgia State University College of Law in 2011. At Georgia State, Casey served as the Student Writing Editor of the Law Review, Vice President of Communications for the Moot Court Society, competed for the Student Trial Lawyers Association (mock trial), and was selected to participate as a Pupil in the Bleckley Inn of Court. Casey competed in the Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Moot Court Competition in New York, where her team won the 2011 national championship and she was named Best Oralist.

Before attending law school, Casey obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Emory University with a major in Theatre Studies and a minor in Dance and Movement Studies.

Casey currently serves as a Saint Simons Land Trust Ambassador and is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Staibdance, an Atlanta-based non-profit contemporary dance company. She is a founding member and past President of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Glynn County Bar Association and is a member of the St. Simons Island Rotary Club, Emory Friends of Dance, and the Golden Isles Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Delta Delta Society. Casey and her husband Zachary, both avid golfers and karaoke enthusiasts, live on St. Simons Island with their two sons and attend St. William Catholic.
