About Chanin

Chanin Wolfingbarger Krivonyak was born in 1970 in Charleston, West Virginia. Chanin is the daughter of Wade and Deanie Wolfingbarger.  Ms. Krivonyak resides with her husband and children in South Charleston, West Virginia. Ms. Krivonyak was admitted to practice law in 1996. She is a member of the American Bar Association, West Virginia State Bar, Kanawha County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. She is also admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.

While attending law school, Chanin was active in many volunteer projects and provided pro bono legal assistance to members of the community in areas of bankruptcy, divorce and domestic violence. During her third year of law school she was the first place winner of the West Virginia Invitational Trial Competition.

Ms. Krivonyak was formerly an Assistant Public Defender with the Kanawha County Public Defender's Office. During her two years of criminal practice she litigated misdemeanor, felony and capital offense cases.

From 1998 to 2004 Chanin practiced with the law firm of McQueen, Harmon & Murphy, L.C. in Charleston, West Virginia where she focused on medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance defense, premises liability and estate planning.  She was a partner with the firm from 2001 to 2004. 

Ms. Krivonyak joined Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe in June of 2004. She became a member on September 1, 2005. 

On April 1, 2010, Major Chanin Krivonyak retired from the United States Army Reserves after more than twenty-one years of service. Chanin served as an enlisted soldier in the Ordnance Corps for eleven years and later became a Commissioned Officer with the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. During her tenure with the JAG Corps, Major Krivonyak served with the 153rd Legal Support Organization located in Norristown, Pennsylvania. She was named Unit Soldier of the Year in 1993 and was offered a commission in the active Army Judge Advocate General Corps with the 101st Air Assault in 1996. Additionally, she served as the Servicing Staff Judge Advocate for the 38th Regional Support Group in Cross Lanes, West Virginia from 2002 to 2009.
