Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I've had numerous landmark cases--defined as those that set new legal precedents or cause a substantive change to the law itself. One such example was my successful representation of the estate of a former shipboard electrician whose asbestos exposure while working aboard Carnival Cruise Line's ships was deemed to have been the cause of his fatal cancer. The net verdict for my client, the estate, was $3.6 million.

How did you build a successful practice?

I pride myself on two core values: Integrity and Compassion. I will always make the right decision for your best interests, and do my best to ensure that you receive the best outcome possible. I care about all of my clients and treat each client with the personal compassion that they deserve. More than these values, I have a wealth of experience that I bring to the table for my clients.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

There are many key things clients should look for in a lawyer. Specifically regarding maritime and personal injury cases, varied experience is key. For example, knowing how many cases the lawyer haes handled representing injured seamen (over 1000 in my firm's case), how many times the lawyer has been successful in trial (over 500), and the highest verdict reached in a trial ($200 million combined winnings for clients).

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I evaluate the case details and decide the proper course of action moving forward.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need basic information including the name of the ship the injury occurred on, the client's name, and extent of the injuries.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My firm has been named as as one of the best in the nation by US News & World Report. I have been named one of the best lawyers in the country for the 3rd year in a row. I've also written several books and am widely regarded as an expert in my area of practice. My firm has handled over 2,000 cases and has over 100 years of combined experience. Additionally, we have a mobile app for your convenience.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I strive to help people and give them the peace of mind that comes with a successful outcome of their case.
