About Chris
Chris M. Kallianos, a partner in the law firm of Warren & Kallianos, is a committed and experienced attorney with a proven track record of getting results for his clients [see Verdicts and Settlements]. Having established a reputation as an effective and aggressive advocate for his clients, Chris brings a vast array of legal knowledge to each and every case he handles, including catastrophic auto accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, inadequate security, construction accidents, defective products and workers' compensation.
Chris is a lifelong native of North Carolina, having been born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. Chris attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) where he studied business and psychology. He received his undergraduate degree and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa from UNC in 1984. Chris attended law school at UNC where he received his law degree with honors in 1987. While in law school, Chris served as a member of the North Carolina Law Review and was appointed to the Board of Editors of the North Carolina Law Review. Chris is a published author on topics ranging from bad faith insurance practices to medical negligence.
Chris' extensive work history in the legal field has provided him with the skill, knowledge and experience to handle all types of litigation matters. Chris has worked for one of the state's largest law firms, as well as First Union Corporation (now Wachovia), handling complex and large cases across the country. Indeed, while working as Vice-President and Assistant General Counsel of First Union, Chris was responsible for overseeing the personal injury and risk management cases of the company. This experience has provided Chris with a unique perspective on how to successfully litigate cases against large companies in order to obtain maximum compensation for victims of negligence.
As a trial attorney, Chris is admitted to practice in all North Carolina federal and state courts, as well as the United States Claims Court in Washington, D.C. Chris is also a member of a number of professional organizations and associations, including a Charter Member of the Leaders Forum of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, The American Association for Justice, North Carolina Bar Association, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Chris is also a member of Law Dragon 3000, an organization listing the leading lawyers in America.
Chris has an active life outside of the practice of law. He has been married for 24 years and has three wonderful teenage daughters. Chris is an avid golfer and tennis player, having competed in various golf and tennis events in Charlotte during the past 22 years.
Chris has also been involved in a number of public service activities, including serving as a Commissioner on the Matthews Town Council for four years and Mayor-Pro-Tem for two years. For three years, Chris served as head of the Mecklenburg County Bar Public Information and Education Committee, an organization responsible for providing resource information to the public about the practice of law. Chris served as President and a member of the Board of Directors of Providence Plantation Racquet and Swim Club.
