Christine P. O'Hearn is a partner with the firm and concentrates her practice in labor and

employment, personal injury, and complex civil litigation. Ms. O'Hearn received her designation as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court in 2007. In 2004, Ms. O'Hearn was selected as one of the "Top 40 Attorneys Under 40" in New Jersey by the New Jersey Law Journal for the second time. She was previously selected in 2002. In 2003, Ms. O'Hearn's achievements were recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal and featured in its "Women and Minorities in the Legal Profession."

 

Ms. O'Hearn represents individuals and management in employment matters, including claims of discrimination, harassment and hostile work environment and retaliation under the NJLAD, Title VII, ADA, CEPA, ADEA, FMLA and NJFLA, in the state and federal courts as well as before the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. O'Hearn is a frequent speaker on employment issues. Ms. O'Hearn serves as Editor of the firm's Labor and  employment Newsletter and has authored several published articles including "Discrimination Decision A Mixed Bag For Employers: State Supreme Court Addresses Emotional Distress, Individual Liability Under NJLAD", 178 N.J.L.J. 949 (2004); "A Doctor Cannot Veto Settlement Where Hospital Is Named Insured", 181 N.J.L.J. 518 (2005); "Benefits Decision Does Not Bar Other Suits - Collateral Estoppel Is Not Applicable To Unemployment Compensation Determinations", 184 N.J.L.J. 891 (2006); Accommodation Versus Risk, Friction Between Accommodating a Disabled Employee and Ensuring Patients Safety", 186 N.J.L.J. 286 (2006); and "The Proper Response to a Grievance: How an Attorney can Effectively Manage an Ethics Inquiry," 187 N.J.L.J. 260 (2007).

 

Ms. O'Hearn assists employers in implementing policies and strategies to prevent employment litigation claims including drafting and review of employment handbooks and employment policies. She conducts employee and management training sessions on subject matters which include discrimination in the workplace, sexual harassment, performance evaluations, discipline, etc.

 

Ms. O'Hearn also has experience representing individuals and businesses in personal injury, and commercial litigation.

 

Ms. O'Hearn serves as an adjunct professor of law at Rutgers University School of Law, Camden, New Jersey, where she teaches employment law.

 

Ms. O'Hearn received her bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 1990, and her law degree cum laude from Temple University School of Law in 1993 where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and the recipient of the Best Oral Advocate Award in 1991.

 

She was admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in 1993. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Ms. O'Hearn is a member of the American, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Camden County Bar Associations.
