Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I had the honor to defend a victim of a long pattern of domestic violence. She and her family had been plagued by abuse at the hands of another family member. We successfully defended the charge of Attempted Murder, obtained a dismissal, and her record was cleared.

How did you build a successful practice?

Early in my college studies, I surrounded myself with great litigators. I had the pleasure to work under and be mentored by Steve Glass, Ronald Jebaily, and George Jebaily. These gentlemen poured in nearly 80 years of legal experience, business experience, and customer service into my soul. Upon the foundation they provided me, I moved to Berkeley County and continued to have additional mentorship from lions of the practice. As I have aged, I have enjoyed serving as a mentor for a number of up-and-coming stars in the practice of law. Iron sharpens iron. These professional relationships have assisted me in serving my clients, obtaining optimal results, and positioning myself to serve the community.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

As a lawyer, I can best serve my client through experience; exercising empathy, compassion, and patience; and approaching all circumstances with common sense and pragmatism.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

You can\'t win a battle if you are unfamiliar with the terrain of the battlefield, and the proclivities of the opposition.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Free consultations are provided to present an overview of services that the firm can provide, assess if a detailed analysis and complex consultation would be productive. This will save the potential client time of an in-office, paid consultation if it is determined such a step would not likely be productive.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Type of case, geographic location of the events, an overview of any past litigation, and likely parties involved.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Patience, compassion, and results.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I am blessed to serve in a profession where I can meet people in the midst of difficult circumstances and assist them in charting a path and pushing through legal complexities to a better position in life.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love traveling with my wife of 29 years, spending time with my 4 sons, playing the piano, and walking my dog.

Are you involved in your community?

I have served on the Board of Trustees for a local Christian school, volunteered and continue to volunteer in community and high school sports, play piano and organ at church. I have and continue to participate in local and foreign missions.
