Cases
Custody of Child
Mother lived in Minnesota. Father lived in northern California. Child was living with mother and there was no court order regarding custody. Father did not return child to Minnesota after child visited father claiming he was the better parent. Representing the mother, I brought a case for custody in California asserting mother should be awarded custody. The judge awarded custody to mother.
Alimony
Husband and wife were married in California. Later they moved to Singapore. Wife filed for divorce in Singapore and obtained an award for alimony. Husband returned to California. Some years later, wife sought to enforce the Singapore alimony award in Riverside, California, which award was over $450,000.00. I filed a motion to dismiss the case on behalf of the husband. The court dismissed the case.
Personal Injury
An elderly lady was on vacation with her husband in San Diego, California. They stopped at a Burger King, exited their vehicle and started walking towards the Burger King door when she and a taxi driver collided. The taxi driver claimed she had walked out into the taxi. On behalf of the wife, I filed a lawsuit against the taxi driver and eventually obtained a favorable settlement for the wife.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I represented two clients who were unable to find another attorney to take their respective cases. Both involved significant income tax liabilities that had been hanging over their heads for years and I resolved both cases.
How did you build a successful practice?
My practice was built by listening carefully to each client, understanding their objectives, figuring out how to put them in the best position to accomplish their objectives and doing so with a reasonable fee.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
The most important qualities to look for in an attorney are; 1) they listen to you; 2) they explain whatever is necessary, so you clearly understand what is being done and why; 3) you have the feeling that the attorney has your best interests at heart; and 4) you have the feeling that the fee to be charged is reasonable.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding aspect in practicing law for me is improving the client's situation from where they were when they walked in the door.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Family, travel, sports and politics are a few of them.
