About Christy
Ms. Black graduated from the University of Illinois- Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. She then attended Illinois Institute of Technology- Chicago-Kent College of Law where she graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2000.
Ms. Black has specialized in Bankruptcy law for 11 years starting as a clerk at a high volume firm in Chicago while still in law school and now as an attorney. She was a supervising attorney in the Chapter 13 division of a large consumer Bankruptcy firm in Chicago for more than a year before joining Ledford & Wu. Ms. Black is licensed to practice in Illinois and the federal courts in Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Ms. Black enjoys public speaking which is one of the reasons she chose law as a career. Going to court and arguing for her clients is one of her favorite aspects of her job. In law school, she particularly enjoyed her international human rights classes and someday, when she retires, would like to volunteer her time working for organizations that promote human rights throughout the world.
