Lee Christian is an attorney in Fort Collins specializing in all aspects of trial work. He has been a trial lawyer in Fort Collins for over 25 years. His practice focuses on criminal defense, personal injury, workers' compensation, and employment disputes. Lee has extensive litigation experience. Mike has both a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver. After he completed his education in 1985, he worked as an insurance defense attorney. Though he found the education he received from the insurance industry invaluable, he was dissatisfied working against the needs of injured people. He joined Hull & Zimmerman in 1992 to pursue his goal of helping the injured and disabled receive legal assistance. Mike uses his trial advocacy and litigation skills to seek compensation for clients injured at work or because of someone else’s negligence, or for clients seeking benefits from the Social Security Administration.

Over his more than three decades of practice, David Japha has earned a reputation for resolving difficult and complex matters, sometimes being the second or third lawyer to take on a case. David has tried many criminal and civil cases to conclusion and argued numerous appeals, post-conviction cases and cases involving mental health issues. He also currently represents clients in federal and state administrative matters, including ongoing matters before the Consumer Products Safety Commission. David got his start in litigation before leaving the University of Denver College of Law, where he tried his first DUI case in state court through a program called the student law office. He also negotiated settlements and argued his first administrative appeal before the Social Security Administration in the winter of 1984, before his law school graduation in May of that year. Soon after starting out, David shared office space with his current partners, Don Jacobson and Daniel Levin at Ptarmigan Place. There he learned law office management hanging out his shingle and doing evictions, collections and court-appointed federal criminal cases. And, it was there, in federal court, that David truly cut his teeth in criminal defense litigation, culminating in his appointment to the Criminal Justice Act committee (which oversaw the appointment of conflict counsel in federal court) by then-Chief Judge Richard Matsch. Over 30 years of practice has given David the opportunity to be involved in some amazing cases, including taking depositions in Katmandu, Nepal in a complex criminal case in 1991; representing a witness in the trial of Timothy McVeigh (where David was also a credentialed reporter for the Intermountain Jewish News); handling criminal matters in Nebraska, Kansas and California and appearing in Washington State. David has been an expert witness for the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Regulation Counsel in the area of attorney fees for court appointed counsel.

Pete is the principal and founder of Praxidice. After interning for the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court, Pete worked in the litigation department of a large national law firm before relocating to Aspen and opening his own office. Stan was born in Buffalo, New York but has lived in Colorado for the past 25 years. He is a former City Councilmember and Mayor Pro-Tem for the City and County of Broomfield. When he is not working, Stan enjoys spending time in the mountains with his wife and children.

John F. Reha has practiced litigation and business law since 1980. He has tried many cases to conclusion, has represented numerous clients in trade secrecy, non-compete and personal injury matters. He has also handled many transactional projects, including the sale and purchase of businesses. John has been handling complex business litigation matters for more than 40 years. He is a noted authority on issues commonly presented by noncompete, trade secrecy and unfair competition cases, and his article, “The Law of Trade Secrecy and Covenants Not to Compete in Colorado,” provides in-depth discussion on these issues. He has taught business litigation to many other attorneys and has spoken to numerous trade groups on this subject, with a goal of educating the business and professional communities on the unique challenges that post-termination competition presents and the critical importance of effective and creative representation in this area.

Ray Goodwin has been practicing law since 1985. For the past 25 years his practice has emphasized estate, corporate, real estate and business matters. Mr. Goodwin has lived in Colorado since 1982. Mr. Goodwin attended the University of Utah and received two B.S. degrees in Accounting and Finance. In 1982, Mr. Goodwin received a J.D. from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. While in law school, he was a teaching assistant for legal research and writing. Concurrently he was a Lecturer teaching Accounting at San Diego State University. In 1982, Mr. Goodwin received his license as a Certified Public Accountant, and he worked at Ernst & Whinney (nka Ernst & Young). In 1985, Mr. Goodwin worked for Manulife in its Advanced Underwriting division. In 1988 Mr. Goodwin went into private practice. Mr. Goodwin is admitted to practice before the Colorado Supreme Court; United States District Court and the United States Tax Court. From 1986 through 1994 Mr. Goodwin authored and updated tax planning guides for Tax Planning for Closely Held Businesses. Those guides were published by the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and used in their national continuing education programs, where Mr. Goodwin lectured throughout the country. Currently Mr. Goodwin is primarily involved in office practice, but his earlier years were spent in the courtroom. Mr. Goodwin’s current practice involves the representation of owners, buyers, sellers, developers and lenders involved in real estate and the representation of business and corporate clients invoiced in both real estate and other businesses. For estate planning clients, Mr. Goodwin has drafted many wills, trusts and organizational plans for extensive business holdings (mostly in real estate) and probate work for decedents and their beneficiaries. In the community Mr. Goodwin has served on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Credit Union since 2007 and is currently the Vice-Chairman of the board.
