I am a twelve-year Veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired 20-year law enforcement professional. Over the course of my police career, I served in three Colorado agencies and have extensive training in criminal investigations, traffic violations, DUIs, and standardized field sobriety testing (the "roadside maneuvers"). I have worked as a member of the Motorcycle Traffic Unit, as a Technical Accident Reconstructionist, as a Patrol Sergeant, a firearms and tactics instructor, have made countless DUI and criminal arrests, and conducted hundreds of investigations. After graduating from law school, I worked for a prominent criminal defense firm on felony and misdemeanor cases and as a prosecutor before opening my own practice. I use my extensive training and real-world experience to safeguard the rights of the accused and protect those wrongly charged. Upon graduating from law school, Philip practiced for a year and a half in one of the oldest firms in Cincinnati, Ohio that focused on estate planning, litigation and real estate. He started his own firm in 1995 focusing on Civil and Criminal Litigation, Business Law, and Estate Planning. While in Cincinnati, his now ex-wife was a surgeon still in training. Over time Philip found that many medical professionals that he or his then wife knew began asking him questions related to contracts, careers, and practices. He realized there was a definite need he could address and developed his practice to help healthcare professionals. When his then wife completed her training, they moved to Colorado where he helped her set up and run her medical and surgical practice, as well as restarting his law practice with a focus on healthcare professionals and practices. Philip grew up in the Midwest. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government with a minor in History from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, he obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. From 1995 to 2003 he served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the US Army Reserves, where he assisted soldiers with estate planning and other assistance to meet their requirements prior to being deployed. He also represented soldiers in military separation boards and served as the Claims Officer for the 9th LSO, 88th RSC. He completed eight years of service rising to the rank of Captain. Philip is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Boulder County Bar Association, where he served as the co-chair of the Business Law Section for two years. He is licensed in Colorado and Ohio. At the office, Philip is always glad to introduce clients to our golden retrievers Sadie and Zev, the office dogs. He is remarried and has two sons in college, Solomon and Isaac, and loves to spend time with his family. He also enjoys cycling, skiing, camping, and hiking.

Steve was born and raised in Colorado Springs where graduated from Palmer High School. He attended Cornell College, earning a bachelor’s of arts degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. He then attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, initially focusing his studies on pharmaceutical and biotechnology intellectual property law. At the encouragement of a Trial Practice Professor, Steve began an internship with the California Innocence Project and then worked with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, one of the nation’s most prestigious prosecutor’s offices. Steve quickly realized that he was much more interested in becoming a trial attorney, and changed the focus of his legal education. Steve eventually returned to Colorado, and after passing the Colorado Bar Exam, accepted a position as a Deputy District Attorney in the Fourth Judicial District. As a DA, Steve initially prosecuted DUI cases, serious traffic offenses, domestic violence cases, and other misdemeanors. After only three months prosecuting misdemeanor cases, Steve was moved to the felony prosecution unit, where he prosecuted a wide range of felony cases, ranging from simple theft and drug cases, to homicides and assaults. Finally, Steve was assigned the coveted position as a member of the Vehicular Homicide/Vehicular Assault team, where he vertically prosecuted fatal traffic accidents, DUI and reckless driving charges resulting in death and serious bodily injury, and homicides. Before leaving the DA’s Office, Steve received the “Tradition of Excellence” Award. After leaving the DA’s Office, Steve joined a large civil litigation firm, where his practice focused on personal injury litigation. Steve joined McDowell/Rodemer, LLC as a partner in an effort to broaden the practice in civil litigation and criminal defense. After leaving McDowell/Rodemer, LLC , Steve became a sole practitioner, in an effort to maintain a smaller caseload and provide more attention to each client. Today, Steve is recognized as a premier trial attorney in Colorado. He has been named as one of the top 40 attorneys under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers for 2012 and 2013. The National Advocacy for DUI Defense recently named Steve as one of the Top 100 DUI Defense attorneys. He is a member of the prestigious National College for DUI Defense, and holds the rating of 10/10 “Superb” by Avvo. Ms. Austin Dominick joined Pearson & Paris, P.C. as an associate attorney in December 2020, and will focus her skillset in the areas of family law, probate, and general civil litigation. She received her Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Dominick served as president for the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, and was a member of the Environmental Law Society, Health Law Society, International Law Society, and the Women’s Law Caucus. Ms. Dominick also participated in the Washington Moderate Means Practicum where she worked on matters related to family, housing, and consumer law for those who cannot afford a full fee attorney yet exceed the low-income qualifications for free legal assistance. Having been born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Ms. Dominick is an ardent supporter of the Colorado community.
