About D. L. (Lew)
Lew Eells attended the State College of Iowa (SCI) at Cedar Falls, Iowa and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Sociology in June of 1966. While at SCI (now University of Northern Iowa) he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha fraternity, and a member and President of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.
Lew Eells attended the University of Iowa College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1968. He was admitted to practice before the Iowa Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern District of Iowa and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Lew Eells was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity at the University of Iowa Law School.
Upon his graduation from the University of Iowa Law School, Mr. Eells practiced law in Dubuque, Iowa for a period of sixteen months.
In the fall of 1969, Lew Eells began practicing law in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he has practiced doing a general practice to the present time. From 1975 to 1982, Lew Eells also practiced part time as an Assistant Linn County Attorney handling only felony prosecutions. Lew Eells formed the firm of Eells & Sovern Law Offices PLC in 1993. Eells & Sovern Law Offices PLC continued to practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a general practice firm, until October 2004 when the name was changed to Eells & Tronvold Law Offices PLC.
Lew Eells is engaged in the general practice of the law including but not limited to personal injury, estate administration, probate, estate planning, trial defense, family law, close corporations and other business organizations, real estate transactions, title examinations and criminal defense of all kinds.
