About Dale

Dale J. Walther was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 1975, and is a partner with the firm of Walther & Flanigan. He received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the California Western University in 1975, where he also earned the Dean's Award. Mr. Walther has also studied Japanese law in Tokyo in a program associated with the University of Notre Dame. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Northwestern University in 1972. Mr. Walther has lived in Alaska since 1953, and is a graduate of East High School Class of '66.

Mr. Walther's practice is primarily focused on representing victims of personal injury and families in cases involving wrongful death, and he also serves as an arbitrator. He is a member of the American and Alaska Bar Associations, Alaska Academy of Trial Attorneys, American Association for Justice, American Arbitration Association, and is admitted to practice before all Alaska state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska, the United States Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Walther has been involved in many precedent setting cases, including: Witt v. Watkins, 579 P.2d 1066 (Alaska 1978); Broderick v. Kings Way, 808, P.2d 1211 (Alaska 1991); and Routh v. U.S., 941 F.2d 853 (9th Cir. 1991).

In his spare time Mr. Walther and his wife enjoy travel, and spending time with their six children and several grandchildren.
