Dan Hogan | Tallahassee Accident & Injury Lawyer

Dan Hogan was born and raised in the Midwest. He moved to Florida after graduating from the University of Illinois and taught high school for several years before attending law school at the University of Florida. As a teacher he honed his presentation skills, often using stories to keep students’ attention. At UF Law, Dan found his calling when he received “Best Advocate” at the school-wide mock trial competition. He went on to win the state-wide Chester Bedell mock trial competition and the nationwide San Antonio competition.

Following graduation in 2011, he joined the Public Defender’s office, where he had the best opportunity to try cases. Dan handled thousands of criminal cases, and over a thousand felony matters. He sat first chair on over forty jury trials, including armed robbery, homicide and capital sexual battery. He became the Chief Assistant Public Defender for Gadsden and Liberty counties before moving to the Capital Crimes division in Tallahassee where he handled exclusively first-degree murder cases for the entire circuit.

In 2021, Dan moved from criminal to civil litigation, developing a diverse practice including commercial transactions, contract disputes, construction defect, partnership disputes, and personal injury. He continued developing his jury trial skills in the civil context and in November 2025 secured a $5.2 million jury verdict in a slip-and-fall case in Collier County.

In March of 2026, Dan joined Fasig | Brooks Law Offices as Of Counsel. He brings a wealth of trial and litigation experience to the firm and now focuses on personal injury cases, helping clients navigate complex legal matters and advocating for maximum recovery. Dan’s experience in high-stakes litigation gives him a unique perspective on negotiating settlements and pursuing creative solutions for his clients. He lives in Tallahassee with his wife and fellow attorney, Kimmy, and their two boys, Harrison and Theo. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, and cooking.
