In 1982, Dan Posternock earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in criminology at Monmouth University. While attending to his studies, he also honed his leadership skills as a two-term preside of a service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, and served as Secretary General to the Model United Nations. He then obtained his Juris Doctorate from Delaware Law School, which is now known as Widen University School of Law, in 1985. After that, he achieved partnerships with former firms, Moss, Powers, and Posternock, Cureton, Caplan, and Clark, before establishing the Law Offices of Daniel Posternock in 1998. Four years later, the firm of Barron & Posternock LLP was formed. In June of 2011, that firm merged with McDowell Rigak, P.C. In September of 2014, that firm joined with Apell & Detrick of Browns Mills to become McDowell, Posternock, Apell & Detrick, P.C.

He is honored to continue the tradition of excellence established by his mentors, including the Honorable E. Stephenson Fluharty and current Federal Judge Robert B. Kugler. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey and U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. he prides himself in being respected by colleagues and in the courts where he regularly practices.

His extensive trial and litigation experience includes prosecuting and defending claims arising from real estate transactions, consumer fraud matters and actions brought against school boards under New Jersey's Tort Claims Act. He also regularly handles business disputes, home improvement claims, as well as automobile negligence, and premises liability matters. In addition, he continues his more than 20-year history with counseling local business leaders.

As a resourceful advocate with a focused resolve, he has come to embrace alternative dispute methods. He was certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to mediate pending disputes more than a decade ago, and continues to be frequently chosen by his peers and the court to arbitrate or mediate litigated matters.
