About Daniel
Daniel J. Gilfarb was born in Miami, Florida, and has lived in South Florida throughout his life. Mr. Gilfarb earned his Bachelor of Science in Advertising degree in 2001 from the University of Florida, where he was also a National Hispanic Merit Scholar and a member of the University of Florida Honors Program. Mr. Gilfarb then earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2004 from the University of Miami School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Gilfarb was on the University of Miami School of Law Moot Court Board, where he earned the Kurt Mar-Mar Award and Scholarship in 2003, and participated in annual competitions; Achieved an Honors distinction in the University of Miami Litigation Skills Program; and Winner in the University of Miami Litigation Skills Program. Mr. Gilfarb also served as a Certified Legal Intern at the State Attorney's Office in Miami-Dade County where he had the opportunity to participate in several criminal trials. Upon graduation from law school, he worked for a prestigious litigation boutique specializing in civil litigation with emphasis on medical based claims, and had the opportunity to actively participate in trial work throughout that time.
At the Law Offices of Steven Ziegler, P.A., Mr. Gilfarb practices and represents numerous health plans in health benefit cases, particularly in the areas of claims disputes brought by providers and subscribers as well as tort related litigation based on utilization review and coverage determinations.
In the past Mr. Gilfarb served as a H.O.P.E. volunteer (Helping Others Through Pro Bono Efforts), as well as assisting underprivileged youths while attending the University of Florida. He also actively participated in theater programs, including Theater Strike Force, where he was an improvisational comedy troupe member. Mr. Gilfarb currently resides in Miami Beach, Florida, and is an active member of the Cuban-Jewish community. He is fluent in Spanish.
Mr. Gilfarb is admitted to the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
