About Daniel
In addition to litigation, Daniel also maintains a general practice where he serves clients in matters ranging from contracts and nondisclosure agreements, to general business disputes and employment law.
Prior to joining the Firm, Daniel worked for a Fortune 100 insurance company in Milwaukee where he represented the company, along with its insureds, in the trial level defense of 1st and 3rd party bodily injury and property damage claims. Daniel developed a strong reputation for the thoroughness with which he litigated cases after winning each case he took to jury verdict. During this time Daniel developed a deep knowledge of insurance law, personal injury practice, subrogation law, and insurance practices. Prior to that Daniel worked for a small defense firm where he primarily practiced criminal defense and appellate advocacy. Daniel tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases to jury verdict and successfully appealed cases where his clients had years knocked off their sentences. Daniel also spent a year as a law clerk in a Minneapolis district court following law school.
Outside of his legal practice, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. They enjoy running, being outdoors, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and Green Bay Packers.

Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
The biggest impacts are made in client preparation and thorough investigation. One specific case that comes to mind involved a rotator cuff surgery. In this case the doctor was testifying on behalf of his patient and relating the surgery to the accident. In other words, the doctor was testifying that the surgery was necessary and due to the injuries his patient sustained in the accident. I conducted a thorough research on this doctor and located different transcripts of testimony he had given in previous cases. By doing this I was able to learn how the doctor thought and the way he generally ascribed causation. Then, during his deposition I was able to craft my cross examination in such a way that he couldn't dispute anything that I said. My cross examination during this deposition undermined his entire testimony for his client. A few weeks later the case settled short of trial and for significantly less money. This took place when I was a defense attorney. I now represent Plaintiffs and use my skills and experience to prevent such scenarios from happening in their cases.
