Mr. Stolz has been frequently quoted in many national publications, including the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, The Star Ledger, the Bergen Record, Law 360 and the New Jersey Law Journal. Mr. Stolz has appeared on Bill Kurtis’ Investigative Reports program on the A&E Network.
Mr. Stolz is a past chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association and currently serves as Communications Director of the Bankruptcy Law Section. Mr. Stolz has served as editor of the Journal published by the Bankruptcy Law Section and has coordinated educational programs for the Bankruptcy Law Section through the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Stolz was one of the attorneys responsible for creating the Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference, held every year for the Bankruptcy Bench and Bar in New Jersey. Mr. Stolz was one of the original Trustees of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Foundation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Stolz has handled many large and complex bankruptcy cases. He has led the firm representation of MacGregor Sporting Goods, NVE, Inc. (Manufacturer of Stacker II products), Zucker, Goldberg & Ackerman LLC., Liberty Harbor Holdings, LLC., Laila Rowe Stores, Lana Lobell Farms, Closter Shopping Plaza, The Newark Watershed, Dionne Warwick and numerous of other significant Chapter 11 Debtors.
Mr. Stolz represented the Newspaper Guild in the United Press International Case and has represented the Trustee in the Birdsall Services Group Case.
Mr. Stolz led the firm’s representation of the Unsecured Creditors’ Committee in the Bennett Funding Group Chapter 11 case, which, at the time, was the largest ponzi scheme in American history.
Mr. Stolz has been listed in the Best Lawyers of America every year since 2005 and in Super Lawyers and has consistently received the highest possible rating from Martindale Hubbell and other similar publications.
Mr. Stolz is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, The American Bar Association, The Commercial Law League of American, The New Jersey Bar Association, The Essex County Bar Association, The Turnaround Management Association and numerous other organizations.
Mr. Stolz received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum laude, from Boston University in 1977. Mr. Stolz graduated from New York Law School in 1980. Mr. Stolz is admitted to the Courts of the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, The Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.
