Daniel P. Berexa

Dan Berexa is a partner in the firm and is the Chairman of the firm's Tort, Insurance and Product Liability Practice Group.  The focus of his practice is litigation in the areas of tort and personal injury law, product liability, professional liability, insurance law and commercial dispute resolution.  He practices in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels.

Mr. Berexa represents those who have been seriously injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents, defective products, unsafe premises or work related accidents and has successfully prosecuted numerous claims on behalf of accident victims and their families.  Mr. Berexa's recent trial experience includes obtaining a $7.8 million verdict in a wrongful death case, after his clients' father, a Tennessee Highway Patrolman, was killed when his car was struck by a tractor-trailer.

Mr. Berexa also maintains an active practice representing manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of various products, including automobiles and heavy equipment.  His practice also includes the defense of professionals and he is often called upon to give guidance regarding insurance coverage issues and litigates insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Berexa received his law degree from the University of Tennessee, where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the Tennessee Law Review.  He obtained his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida, where he was a Distinguished Military Student and member of the Scabbard & Blade Military Honor Society.  Before joining the firm in 1992, Mr. Berexa served overseas in the Persian Gulf War as a Military Police Officer.  His unit was attached to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Mr. Berexa is a member of the Nashville, Williamson County, Tennessee and American Bar Associations.  He has lectured and written on the use of the internet, as it pertains to the practice of law.  He is a member of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He is also a participant in the Nashville Bar Association Pro Bono Program and volunteers as a coach for youth sports.
