Daniel E. Schultz has over thirty-five years of experience representing the seriously injured and their families. He focuses his civil practice on medical negligence and other complex personal injury litigation. Mr. Schultz has been involved in a wide variety of medical negligence cases against physicians, hospitals, HMO's, and nursing homes. He is a Sustaining Member of the American Association for Justice and a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., the Maryland Association for Justice, the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Maryland Bar Association.
RESULTS OBTAINED
Mr. Schultz has been an advocate for the rights of the seriously injured throughout his career and his cases have, on occasion, been the subject of media coverage. Mr. Schultz has achieved multi-million dollar results in numerous negligence cases and as a result, he is a certified Life Member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. This distinction can be claimed by less than 1% of attorneys in the United States and only a handful of attorneys in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
RECOGNITION AND AWARDS
Mr. Schultz is recognized as one of the best attorneys in his field of practice by three major organizations that evaluate attorneys. Best Lawyers in America, a national publication associated with the Legal Times, has selected Mr. Schultz as one of their Best Attorneys in the field of Medical Negligence in the District of Columbia. Super Lawyers, an attorney evaluation published by Law and Politics, has designated Mr. Schultz as one of its Super Lawyers in the District of Columbia. And Martindale-Hubbell, the oldest organization in the United States involved in peer review evaluations of attorneys, has identified Mr. Schultz as an AV attorney for over thirty consecutive years, which is Martindale-Hubbell's highest ranking of attorneys for ethical standards and legal ability.
PRESENTATIONS AND PUBLICATIONS
During his career, Mr. Schultz has been an invited speaker on a variety of subjects such as "The Use of Mental Health Professionals in Death and Personal Injury Cases" at a Civil Litigation Conference co-sponsored by the Bureau of National Affairs and the Law Education Institute and "Winning at Trial: Selecting a Theme and Theory" at the Plenary Session of the Philadelphia Bar Association Bench-Bar Conference. He has been a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (Washington Program), a Moderator at the National Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association, and a member of the Steering Committee for an Interdisciplinary Conference co-sponsored by Ripon College and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Schultz also maintains a blog where he regularly publishes commentary on legal subjects such as tort reform. In addition to his blog, Mr. Schultz has written articles for such publications as Legal Times and other internet publications. His most recently published article, A Life of Love and Challenge, focuses on families who are raising children who suffer from cerebral palsy.
