‘Cyber-bullying’ charges lodged against political activists dismissed
Criminal charges lodged against two political activists arrested in December on cyber-bullying allegations have been dismissed. *** Hendee’s attorney, Daren Wiseley, received word Feb.14 the charges were dismissed and issued a statement to social media this week. “It’s pathetic we even had to defend against this, but today is a victory for the First Amendment,” Wiseley stated. In an earlier statement, Wiseley claimed Hendee and Mapes’ arrest was politically motivated.
Charges Dropped Against Man Arrested in Viral Video
Charges against a Hillsdale man arrested last year for disturbing the peace and resisting and obstructing an officer have been dropped. Andy Dewaine Bailey could have spent one year in jail but no longer faces the charges, according to Bailey’s attorney, Daren Wiseley. Bailey refused to take a plea bargain since he believed he did not commit any crime, Wiseley said. Bailey thought taking a risk with the jury was the best option, according to Wiseley, so they proceeded to trial.
