About David
David A. Garrison has over 19 years of successful legal and technical experience in the environmental field. His practice concentrates on environmental counseling and litigation, with particular focus on water resources, air quality, contaminated sites, indoor air quality, mold, agriculture, law enforcement, land development, toxic exposure, occupational health, and waste disposal and recycling.
Mr. Garrison began his career as a marine biologist, graduating from Old Dominion University in 1986 with a B.S. in marine biology and minor in chemistry. He then went on to law school and, while there, worked for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Virginia Attorney General's office.
After earning his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1989, where he studied environmental law, Dave served as a federal civil prosecutor with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Justice. He then practiced environmental law as a partner with Stevens & Lee.
Mr. Garrison has handled a broad range of environmental matters for a variety of clients. He has served as lead counsel on major brownfields redevelopment projects, as court-appointed liaison counsel in the landmark Keystone Landfill Superfund case, as lead counsel in a major toxic mold case, as lead counsel in major trade group litigation involving agricultural pollution, and as personal counsel to families involved in environmental disputes. Dave advises and represents large public companies, privately held businesses, trade groups, local governments, and families.
Dave has presented and written on numerous topics such as indoor air quality and mold, environmental risk avoidance, Superfund, agricultural pollution, and environmental contracting. He serves on the Chester County Agricultural Development Council, as well as the Boards of the Volunteer English Program of Chester County and Green Valleys Association. Dave is the co-founder and co-chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Chester County Bar Association.
