David F. Aggers, Esq. - A founding Member. Mr Aggers was born in Youngstown, Ohio on December 1, 1947. He was raised near Pittsburgh, PA and, after graduating from highschool, attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating in 1970 with a B.A. in Psychology. After graduating from John Carroll, and before being admitted to the Ohio Bar, Mr. Aggers worked in higher education, migrating to several positions in Cuyahoga County government followed by working with one of the Big Eight Accounting firms in a management position

While employed directly by the Cuyahoga County, Ohio Board of Commissioners, and attending Cleveland State University, Cleveland Marshall College of Law (J.D., 1982), Mr. Aggers was heavily involved in the formation, design and implementation of the Cuyahoga County-wide Bureau of Child Support Enforcement System and courts.

Also while attending law school, Mr. Aggers, along with an independent board of county police chiefs, designed and implemented a national award winning law enforcement computer information system; providing local County municipal police departments with county-wide criminal information and Federal Bureau of Investigation NCIC crime reporting system. Mr. Aggers served as the initial managing director of that project, known as the Cuyahoga Regional Information System. Upon completion of his computer system design work for Cuyahoga County, Mr. Aggers moved on to the private sector managing a regional component of the Deloitte-Touche consulting practice, specializing in medical/hospital and local and state governmental issues.

Admitted to the Ohio and Federal Bars in 1983, Mr. Aggers now practices before all courts for Ohio , including the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He has also practiced before the U.S. District Courts for Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Illinois , admitted pro hac vice to the practice of law in several other State and Federal jurisdictions. Mr. Aggers is a Member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Mr. Aggers has focused his practice of law on corporate formation and governance, mergers, acquisition, and litigation, as well as issues and litigation in the fields of Admiralty and Maritime Law ( particularly cargo); Environmental Law; Real Estate Law including Private and Commercial Civil Real Estate; State and Federal Litigation; Debtor and Creditor Law; and Intellectual Property Litigation. Mr. Aggers has also represented several of the firm's clients on claims against debtors in several United States Bankruptcy Courts across the United States.

Mr. Aggers has been called upon to apply his varied legal background and skills to matters ranging from advising charitable organizations to litigating creditor rights in several U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in the United States . Mr. Aggers truly possess an "A to Z" law practice. For the past twenty-three years, Mr. Aggers has either litigated, or provided his counsel to, matters and legal issues found in the fields from admiralty to zoning. In addition to his significant litigation efforts, Mr. Aggers has also served as corporate counsel for several corporations.

Unique Civic and Legal Accomplishments: Mr. Aggers has: Served as special counsel for the City of Cleveland, Ohio in the negotiation of the initial cable television contract for the City of Cleveland, Ohio; Provided legal guidance on state and federal environmental law issues, and litigation services, to one of the largest private landfills companies in Northeast Ohio; Served as counsel for one of the nation's largest private purchasing co-operatives with regard to corporate governance and acquisition matters; Served as corporate and litigation counsel for several sports celebrities, and counsel to corporations involved in various aspects of sports-agency, including antitrust issues involving the National Football League and Major League Baseball. As some examples of Mr. Aggers' legal efforts, he has: Secured a six figure settlement for his client, a creditor in the bankruptcy proceedings of one of the nation's leading hotel and motel franchising operators; Obtained fraud judgments at trial against client's debtors; Obtained a large settlement for a junior contractor involved in a commercial building demolition project; obtained, by settlement, a significant number of amicable settlements involving the departures of athletes and agents from sports management companies under respective agent management agreements.
