Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I represented a Miami-based venture capital/private equity fund shortly after fund formation and over the last five years have managed all of the fund's investment related matters and day-to-day legal matters of its portfolio company. The fund has grown exponentially and now owns a portfolio of incredibly successful companies, many of which have now have a cult following.
How did you build a successful practice?
The ability to think both like an entrepreneur and a lawyer has allowed me to connect with entrepreneurs/start-ups in a practical manner and offer logical/strategic advice that suits each particular client and their needs. My model includes custom tailoring my services for each client and ensuring that they receive actionable solutions to their challenges rather than overly academic legal advice that doesn't lead to direct answers.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should seek a lawyer that understands the unique problems and challenges that they face in their particular industry. A lawyer can not be helpful to a client if that lawyer does not truly understand the ins and outs of their client's business and ultimate vision.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is incredibly important as legal advice should not be provided in a "vacuum" and must be framed around the local legal infrastructure's rules, regulations and industry norms.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I would be happy to gauge the current situation and offer general advice on potential strategies/solutions and when exactly to consider retaining a lawyer on a stage-by-stage basis

A brief but full background on the client and their prospective legal needs based on the stage of business that they are currently in.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I have spent a lot of time working with entrepreneurs, founders, investors and creatives of all types and can communicate abstract legal concepts clearly with my clients in a way that resonates with them.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The ability to work with my clients as a team and assist them with realizing and successfully executing their brand vision/dream.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I am an electronic music producer and enjoy weightlifting and running.
