About David
David M. Levy is a partner in the Firm and a member of its Litigation and Corporate Practice Groups. Before joining Robinson Brog, Mr. Levy was one of the founding partners of a small midtown commercial law boutique.
Over a period of almost thirty years, Mr. Levy has developed a diversified corporate and commercial practice, specializing in litigation and all forms of dispute resolution, as well as general corporate and business counseling. He regularly represents public and private companies in a wide variety of transactional, corporate and litigation matters. Mr. Levy's extensive litigation experience includes the following:
Employment and labor dispute resolution and counseling.
In addition to litigation and dispute resolution, Mr. Levy actively counsels his clients on corporate and transactional matters. His role as a problem-solver takes many forms, and he regularly sits in on board of directors' meetings, attends business functions with clients and has on several occasions been engaged to mediate complex commercial disputes, including his appointment by the New York Supreme Court as a Special Master to oversee the orderly liquidation of pledged collateral.
Mr. Levy is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and Illinois. He is admitted in the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York and the Northern District of Illinois, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Seventh Circuits as well. Mr. Levy received a Bachelors of Arts Degree with High Honors from the University of Florida in 1977, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa upon graduation. He received a Masters of Arts Degree in comparative jurisprudence from the State University of New York at Albany in 1978 and his Juris Doctor Degree with High Distinction from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1981, where he served as the Executive Editor of the Law Review. During his last year in law school, Mr. Levy served as a student law clerk to the Honorable Marvin E. Aspen, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. He is an active member of the American and New York State Bar Associations.
